Typical toilet problems relate to flushing (or lack of flushing), tank filling, and strange noises. If you can fix your toilet, go ahead and do it with caution. If the problem is bigger than you want to deal with yourself, call a professional. Rapid-Rooter Plumbing, Sewer, and Drain Service can help perform the toilet repair for you.
1. Toilet Flush Weak
Toilet flush doesn’t seem very strong? Problem could be build up hard water deposits. If you do not have a septic system, then a mixture of muriatic acid and water can help dissolve the hard water deposits.
2. Partial Flush
When the toilet flushes, does it sound right, but doesn’t completely empty the toilet bowl? A partial toilet flush may mean the toilet flapper inside the toilet tank is water logged and drops the flap too fast. This may call for a simple replacement of the flap inside the toilet tank.
3. Ghost Flushing
Does your toilet mysteriously flush for no apparent reason? One reason may be that the flap inside the tank is not tightly sealed and the toilet tank is leaking water into the bowl. If that is the case, it’s an easy toilet repair. Just change the flap in the toilet tank.
4. Toilet Flushes Twice
When you flush your toilet, does it flush twice consecutively? The toilet tank may be filling up too much, releasing too much water into the bowl. You will need to adjust the water level in the tank.
5. Slow Flush
Does your toilet take too long to flush and you have to keep your finger on the flusher for it to completely flush? The slow toilet flush may be due to a clog between the toilet tank and the toilet bowl. If the flush takes too long to empty the toilet bowl, you may have a clog in your down pipe in your plumbing system. A clogged toilet may require professional help. If using a plunger to fix a clogged toilet does not solve your problem, then call a plumber for clogged toilet repair.
6. Toilet Tank Fills Slow
If your toilet tank fills slowly, this may be the easiest solution to solve. The value that controls the water flow into the toilet tank may be set to low. Adjust the value to allow greater flow into the tank.
